I just got this old reliable phone from my friend Jeremy. The thin, stylish Motorola cell phone I was using was experiencing some technical glitches from time to time (sometime I have the ringer on loud and it wouldn't ring when a call came in, causing me to miss calls, very annoying and frustrating).
So, instead of upgrading to a free new phone through my parent's family plan (which requires me to sign a new 2-year contract), I decided to ask Jeremy for his old phone that he doesn't use any more. After placing my SIM card into this "new" phone, I was good to go.
So far I have been very impressed and satisfied with this Samsung x495. It's sturdier and much more durable than my old Motorola. It's my first time using a flip phone (instead of "candy bar" design phones) and I liked the fact that there is a large clock screen on the front, and I can see who's calling before opening up the phone. Since I don't have a watch, I use my cell phone for the time, and I can just press on the side button on the phone to light up the clock when I need to know the time.
Another advantage of having a flip phone is that I will never have to worry about forgetting to "lock" my phone and calling someone by accident. If you have used a "candy bar" phone you know what I'm talking about.
Lastly, what I really love about this phone is the text messaging software. It's so much better than the Motorola texting software. Samsung has really done a good job in this area. The software recognizes what words I am texting much better, and now I am texting much faster (which I do everyday to communicate with friends) and saving time! I thank God for providing me this solid, wonderful phone, that meets all my basic phone needs. God is really good!
