A couple reasons why I support McCain/Palin and not Obama/Biden

Here is a couple of my reasons, from a Christian perspective, regarding Obama's Christian faith:

About the Christian faith of Barack Obama, I have serious concerns. I believe that he is saved and that he is a Christian, I don't doubt his salvation, but I do not believe that Jesus is the Lord of his life. I think his faith is not central to his life, but a compartmentalized portion in his life. Why do I believe that? One reason is from what I have read of his speech on faith, religion, and government in 2006. Here is an excerpt from it:
"And even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools? Would we go with James Dobson's, or Al Sharpton's? Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is ok and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount - a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application? So before we get carried away, let's read our bibles. Folks haven't been reading their bibles."

When I read this portion, I sense that Obama is not really honoring God's words, or even honoring God, with these retorical statements. And I realized that Obama had misinterpreted these portion of the Bible totally out of context, about Leviticus and Deuteronomy. And he totally misinterpreted the Sermon on the Mount as well. The Sermon on the Mount is for the personal believer's life, and it can not be applied to government or the defense department.

Paul states clearly in Romans 13:3-4, "For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer."
Rulers (governments) are God's agents to bear the sword (carry out military action).

So, it is shocking to me, that Obama would go on to say that "Folks haven't been reading their Bibles." It is a very prideful statement, when the reality is that it is Obama who haven't been reading his Bible, and he takes certain Scriptures out of context to fit his political views and agenda.
It is not just me who have caught the Scriptural errors in this speech by Obama. James Dobson and Focus on the Family also noticed this speech and gave their response to this speech as well.  Hear James Dobson's response at this link: http://www.citizenlink.org/content/A000007770.cfm

As you can see, this speech by Obama is pretty telling, about where Obama is in his Christian faith, and it is clear that James Dobson and Focus on the Family does not endorse Obama at all. It is also noted that Obama set under Pastor Jeremiah Wright's teachings in his church for 20 years, when Pastor Wright was preaching radical political racist messages about America, messages that were not biblically sound. And it was only when the media brought this to light, that Obama renounced and disowned Pastor Wright's teaching.

If a believer truly have the Holy Spirit within him or her, I believe that him or her would have enough discern to recognize when a pastor's teaching is off-base, and leave the church right away, and not just continue to go to the church year after year and agree with the teachings. And now, I'm not surprised that Obama's personal theology and knowledge of the Bible is shaky.

Now, I don't believe that McCann or Palin has perfect theology or perfect knowledge of Scripture, but knowing Obama's speech and church background, it will be troubling for me to see Obama elected as president. Also, it has been noted that Obama stood as the only member in the Illinois legislative assembly who opposed medical help to babies who survived failed abortion attempts. On the federal level, every Republican and Democrat senator voted unanimously for this law to be passed, to help these living babies. One can say that Obama supported infanticide. He voted to block this law 3 times. It is appalling that living babies are left in a room to die without medical help allowed, and that this is happening in America. You can do some more research on this issue, and on Obama's stance on this yourself.

So I do feel more comfortable voting for McCain/Palin, and not Obama/Biden, in light of these information.

James Dobson, Mike Huckabee on Sarah Palin

Here is an excerpt from James Dobson's statement about Sarah Palin:

“Gov. Palin’s commitment to the sanctity of life is not just a political position. She was advised to abort her fifth and youngest child when it was learned he had Down syndrome. She refused. That’s bravery and integrity in action.

“Gov. Palin’s views align with Sen. McCain’s own stated position that human life is precious and must be protected – and that gives us confidence he will keep his pledges to voters regarding the kinds of justices he would nominate to the Supreme Court and the way he would conduct our nation’s domestic and international affairs. This selection by Sen. McCain is a very encouraging sign for his campaign.”

Mike Huckabee spoke about Sarah Palin's experience in comparision to Barack Obama's experience, and Huckabee states that Palin's experience as governor far outweighs Obama's experience as senator, and that Palin's experience is better suited to run a country than Obama's.
