The Outcry Story
John the Baptist became a "voice crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way" for the Lord. It is significant that God required John’s generation to leave the comforts of home and meet Him in the wilderness. And I believe that again today, there is an invitation from God to unplug from our modern conveniences, humble ourselves and, with undistracted devotion, seek only Him. That is what Wilderness Outcry is all about.
This summer, June 14-18, 2010, thousands from around the nation will come together in night and day worship, fasting and prayer, and crying out to God. The way the Holy Spirit has sovereignly orchestrated this gathering with dreams, God-encounters and supernatural events has been amazing. I feel it may end up being the most significant gathering I have ever participated in. This is not a conference or one ministry’s event. It is a joint effort of several leaders asking believers to come together in unity and consecration before a Holy God. I believe it will be a time like that talked of in 2 Chronicles 7:14,
"if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
During this critical season we must erase our denominational lines and individualistic thinking, and come together to call on God on behalf of our nation.
Through a series of "it could only be God" stories, Jerry and Sandra Murphy became the owners of a beautiful ranch near Poplar Bluff, Missouri: 444 County Road 543. Through the years, Jerry has prayed Isaiah 44:4 over this property and believed that a generation would one day gather there to cry out to God for awakening in America.
In September of 2009 Lou Engle (founder and leader of TheCall) and I stood on this property praying about the possibility of using it for just such a purpose. It is very hard to describe the feeling that overtakes a person as he or she steps onto this beautiful land—God’s presence is truly there. As Lou and I prayed, dreaming of thousands of people gathering there before the Lord, Lou, knowing nothing about Jerry’s prayers, suddenly began to exclaim, "this is Isaiah 44:4!"
God is indeed coming to Poplar Bluff, Missouri this summer to fulfill Isaiah 44:3-5, “I will pour out water on the thirsty…I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring…they will spring up like poplars by streams…one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’…and another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to the Lord’…” I truly believe this has the potential to help launch the Third Great Awakening in America. Be a part of God recapturing His dream for America. I assure you this is His idea—and He will come! It’s not a camp, it’s a consecration!
