Wilderness Outcry, 6/14-18

There is a significant gathering this June, where thousands will come to one place, in Missouri, to worship and pray, day and night, to cry out to God for revival in America.  Read the info below, and check out the website.  See if you can be there in mid-June!

The Outcry Story

John the Baptist became a "voice crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way" for the Lord. It is significant that God required John’s generation to leave the comforts of home and meet Him in the wilderness. And I believe that again today, there is an invitation from God to unplug from our modern conveniences, humble ourselves and, with undistracted devotion, seek only Him. That is what Wilderness Outcry is all about.
This summer, June 14-18, 2010, thousands from around the nation will come together in night and day worship, fasting and prayer, and crying out to God. The way the Holy Spirit has sovereignly orchestrated this gathering with dreams, God-encounters and supernatural events has been amazing. I feel it may end up being the most significant gathering I have ever participated in. This is not a conference or one ministry’s event. It is a joint effort of several leaders asking believers to come together in unity and consecration before a Holy God. I believe it will be a time like that talked of in 2 Chronicles 7:14,
"if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
During this critical season we must erase our denominational lines and individualistic thinking, and come together to call on God on behalf of our nation.
Through a series of "it could only be God" stories, Jerry and Sandra Murphy became the owners of a beautiful ranch near Poplar Bluff, Missouri: 444 County Road 543. Through the years, Jerry has prayed Isaiah 44:4 over this property and believed that a generation would one day gather there to cry out to God for awakening in America.
In September of 2009 Lou Engle (founder and leader of TheCall) and I stood on this property praying about the possibility of using it for just such a purpose. It is very hard to describe the feeling that overtakes a person as he or she steps onto this beautiful land—God’s presence is truly there. As Lou and I prayed, dreaming of thousands of people gathering there before the Lord, Lou, knowing nothing about Jerry’s prayers, suddenly began to exclaim, "this is Isaiah 44:4!"
God is indeed coming to Poplar Bluff, Missouri this summer to fulfill Isaiah 44:3-5, “I will pour out water on the thirsty…I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring…they will spring up like poplars by streams…one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’…and another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to the Lord’…” I truly believe this has the potential to help launch the Third Great Awakening in America. Be a part of God recapturing His dream for America. I assure you this is His idea—and He will come! It’s not a camp, it’s a consecration!

Remembering a great spiritual hero, Jill Austin

Jill Austin passed away last night.  She was one of my favorite prophetic minister/speaker.  She was so fiery and anointed, and you would get "blasted" by God (in a good way) listening to her.  She was so sensitive to the Holy Spirit, so humorous, and so radical for the Lord.  She knew how the Holy Spirit wanted to move in a meeting, and signs and wonders and miracles and healings followed her preaching.  She also imparted to the people the heart of Father God.

Jill was a forerunner in creative worship arts.  She spread the message of the gospel through her drama and pottery.  She was also an author, and her books carries on her legacy.

Even though I was not able to see Jill minister live in person, I know, when all is said and done, we will meet her in our heavenly home.  May we carry on the torch that Jill set ablazed in her life, and impact the nations for the glory of God.

New CD release! Tears of Joy : instrumental soaking worship by Samuel Liu & Shujen Chen

On Sunday, November 23, 2008, my new instrumental worship CD was released!  This CD, titled, "Tears of Joy," with me on electric violin and my friend Mrs. Shujen Chen on keyboard, is probably the best soaking album that I have done.  The whole session was recorded live in a continuous flow, and everything was spontaneously improvised.
In the middle of the set, the Holy Spirit led us to launch into a spontaneous arrangement of "Nothing but the Blood," and at that moment the entire soaking set went up to a higher level in the Lord.  You would have to hear it and experience His presence for yourself.

If you would like to buy the CD, it's $10 plus shipping.  Just contact me and let me know how many you want to get.  Below is my official "notes" on the album, and the explanation of the Cover Photo (above).
============
Tears of Joy is Samuel and Shujen’s second collaborative album, recorded in October 2008, two years after My Offering.  Recorded at Soaking in the Father’s Love Weekend at Word of His Grace in Bothell, WA, Tears of Joy is one continuous live soaking session.  Following the orchestration of the Holy Spirit, the music was entirely spontaneously improvised.  The violin and the keyboard flowed as one river, carrying the listener into deeper intimacy with Father God.  Even the pivotal track “Nothing but the Blood” was unplanned.  The heartfelt arrangement of this classic hymn by Robert Lowry can be only attributed to the Holy Spirit.

Samuel explains the title, Tears of Joy.  “When this album was recorded, I was in the midst of five weeks of deep inner healing.  During this time God flooded in and ministered to my past wounds and hurts.  Embracing me through the brokenness, pain, and suffering in my life, His love brought healing and restoration, and I am set free to be!  So what you hear in Tears of Joy is my heart responding to Jesus in gratitude.  The music imparts healing and thanksgiving, joy and peace, and ushers you into the rest of God.  And truly, those who sow in tears will reap in joy.  ~Ps 126:5”

About the Cover Photo:
the children and their teacher out in the Russian countryside.

It’s a picture I (Sam) took on my first mission trip in 2000.  These beautiful children were orphans and street kids in St. Petersburg, Russia, rescued by the local Christian orphanage I was serving at.  I had the privilege to befriend them and share with them the love of God.  I took this photo in the final days of my month-long trip.  I don’t know where these children are now, but whenever I look at their faces in the picture, God brings back memories and tears of joy.

Amazing past Friday at Heaven's Sound conference!

This past Friday I went with my friends Beau, Relissa, and Theres to the Heaven's Sound worship conference in Port Orchard, WA.  This conference was led by one of my favorite worship leader, Suzy Yaraei, from my old church MorningStar Fellowship in Fort Mill, South Carolina, where I attended for over 2 years from 2004-06, before I moved to Seattle.
I was really excited to worship with Suzy again!  (She and her husband Kamran came around here last year as well)  This time they brough Paulette, the young keyboardist/worship leader from MorningStar with them, and it was a tremendously powerful time in the Lord.  Kamran preached the heart of God in the morning, and Suzy spoke at night.  All of us received supernatural breakthroughs and greater freedom than ever before!  I was even re-activated in the prophetic arts.  God is so good!

Below is a video of Suzy's live worship at MorningStar.  The Spirit of God is all over this song.  Watch it!  And the subsequent video is Kamran's personal testimony of how he grew up in Iran as a Muslim and yet met Jesus later on, and now that his life is radically on-fire for Jesus!
